SWEET AND SOUR BEEF STEW RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 lb. boneless beef chuck steak, cut into 3/4" cubes 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3 med. carrots, thinly sliced 1 med. onion, thinly sliced & separated into rings 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1/4 C. packed brown sugar 1/4 C. vinegar 1/4 C. water 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

DIRECTIONS:

1.
Stir beef, flour and salt in 2 quart casserole until beef is coated.
Add remaining ingredients.

Microwave, covered, at high (100%) 5 minutes.
Reduce power to medium (50%).
Microwave until beef is tender, 50 minutes to 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times during cooking.
Let stand 5-10 minutes.
Serve over rice or noodles, if desired.
Makes 6-8 servings.
