SPICY RED CABBAGE WITH APPLES RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 qt. red cabbage, shredded (1 lb.) 2 tart cooking apples, pared and sliced 1/4 C. red wine vinegar 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/3 C. sugar whole cloves 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients with 1/2 C.
water.
Cook, covered, over medium heat until cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serves 4 to 6.
