SCALLOPED CABBAGE RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 medium cabbage head 2 C. water salt and pepper 2 C. American cheese, diced 2 Tbsp. flour 1/4 C. cold water 1 C. bread crumbs

DIRECTIONS:

Cut up cabbage and cook in water, with salt and pepper, until tender crisp.
Do not overcook.
Drain and save water.
Place cabbage in a buttered 9" x 9" buttered casserole.
Make a cheese sauce with the 2 C.
cabbage water thickened with flour and cold water.
Melt cheese in the mixture and pour over the cabbage and top with crumbs.
Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.
