PORK AND BEAN BREAD RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 C. raisins 1 1/3 C. boiling water 3 whole eggs 2 1/2 C. sugar 1 C. oil 1 (16 ounce.) can pork and beans 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. milk 4 C. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. flour 1 C. chopped nuts

DIRECTIONS:

Pour boiling water over raisins; when cool, strain and set aside.
Beat eggs and sugar for 3 minutes until thick.
Add oil to egg mixture and beat 3 more minutes and set aside.
Mash pork and beans thoroughly so there are no beans visible; to this add liquid from raisins with vanilla, baking soda and milk.
Combine with egg mixture, then sift and add flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
Take raisins and add flour and nuts; stir until well covered with flour.
Now mix everything together and pour into greased and floured cans or small loaf pans.
Bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
