NEW ENGLAND BAKED BEANS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS: 1 1/2 lbs. dried beans 5 C. water 1 med. onion, chopped 1 Tbsp. salt 1 C. brown sugar 2 Tbsp. molasses 2 tsp. dry mustard 1 1/2 C. ketchup 1/2 lb. bacon, cubed DIRECTIONS: See Pit Cooking. (Search Title for Pit Cooking) Soak the 3 cups of beans in the water overnight. Simmer until the skins begin to break. Add the rest of the ingredients and cover with water.
