GREEN BEANS WITH BROWN BUTTER SAUCE RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1/4 C. butter 4 Tbsp. flour 2 C. chicken broth 1 bay leaf 1/2 C. grated sharp Cheddar cheese 1 lb. green beans, cooked and drained 1/4 C. chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS:

Brown the butter lightly in a heavy saucepan, but do not allow to burn.
Add the flour and gradually stir in the broth.
Add the bay leaf and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Cook for 1 minute.
Stir in the cheese until melted.
Remove bay leaf.
Arrange the beans in a serving dish and pour sauce over.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Serves 6.
