DIVINITY FROSTING RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 C. water
3 egg white
1/2 tsp. vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is clear. Cook mixture without stirring until candy thermometer registers 240 degrees. Beat whites of 3 eggs (at room temperature) until soft peak forms; continue to beat while slowly adding syrup mixture. Add vanilla; continue beating until stiff peaks form and frosting is thick enough to spread.
