BEEF AND BULGAR RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 pounds good quality beef steak or roast to 2 pounds 1 C. chopped onions 2 carrots sliced thinly 1 C. beef broth from base or canned 1/4 C. red wine 1 C. bulgur Salt to taste Freshly ground black pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Layer vegetables in crock pot, trim beef of all visible fat and cut in strips about 3/4 inch thick and add to the pot.
Pour broth and wine over all and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
Add bulgur and cook on high until bulgur is tender, adding a little more broth or water if necessary.
