APPLE TOPPED HAM STEAK RECIPE

  INGREDIENTS:

1 fully cooked ham steak (2 pounds) 1 C. chopped onion 3 C. apple juice 2 tsp. dijon mustard 2 medium green apples cored and thinly sliced 2 medium red apples cored and thinly sliced 2 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 C. cold water 1 Tbsp. minced fresh sage or 1 tsp. rubbed sage 1/4 tsp. pepper

DIRECTIONS:

In a large skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, brown ham steak on both sides over medium heat; set aside and keep warm.
In the same skillet, sauté onion until tender.
Stir in apple juice and mustard; bring to a boil.
Add apples.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 4 minutes or until apples are tender.
Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into apple juice mixture.
Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes.
Stir in sage and pepper.
Return ham steak to the skillet; heat through.
